The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Derek Green and Deshaun Barton. Barton had a solid game and scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Meanwhile, Green did his best for the losing side, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Harnett Central has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for E.E. Smith, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 7-9.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Harnett Central have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like E.E. Smith struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.8 rebounds per game.
