The Minneola Wildcats put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Sylvan-Lucas 28-6. Considering Minneola has won nine games by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Eli Lang was his usual excellent self, rushing for 139 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 118 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Lang was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.
Minneola's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Sylvan-Lucas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-2.
Minneola will head out on the road to face off against South Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Central is on a five-game streak of home wins, Minneola a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Sylvan-Lucas does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
