Arcadia is a perfect 4-0 against St. Mary since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. Arcadia will head out to face off against St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Arcadia took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Cactus Shadows, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Arcadia came out on top in a nail-biter against Cactus Shadows on Thursday, sneaking past 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since April 12, 2024.
Arcadia saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Young, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Young also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another was LJ Donahue, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but St. Mary's ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against Marcos de Niza by a score of 5-2.
Luis Mejia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sean Berry, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since March 1st.
Arcadia pushed their record up to 3-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for St. Mary's, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-5.
Arcadia took their win against St. Mary's in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. Will Arcadia repeat their success, or does St. Mary's has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
