Basketball Recap: Morristown-Hamblen East Takes a Loss

Morristown-Hamblen East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell to the Rhea County Golden Eagles 73-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (60), the Hurricanes still had to take the loss.

Defeat or not, Morristown-Hamblen East got some senior leadership from Nathan Ball and Isaac Greene. Ball went 6 of 10from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, while Greene went 5 for 7 on his way to 18 points and five assists. Greene's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cory Carpenter, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points and seven assists.

Morristown-Hamblen East's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Rhea County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Morristown-Hamblen East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-62 victory against Cocke County on the 6th. As for Rhea County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 89-48 defeat against Webb on the 7th.
