Arroyo is 10-0 against Tennyson since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Arroyo Dons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tennyson Lancers at 7:30 p.m. Arroyo has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1.
Arroyo pushed their score all the way to 56 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 92-56 defeat at the hands of Washington. While losing is never fun, Arroyo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1068th, while Washington is ranked 327th).
Meanwhile, Tennyson stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They blew past Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit 62-37. With Tennyson ahead 46-21 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Tennyson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Larrie Noble, who scored 13 points. Jose Tecua was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with four steals.
Arroyo bumped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Tennyson, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Arroyo against Tennyson in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 79-42 victory. Will Arroyo repeat their success, or does Tennyson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
