After two games on the road, Ganado is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Flatonia Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Ganado has not done well against Schulenburg recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Ganado came out on top against Schulenburg by a score of 44-37. The win was just what Ganado needed coming off of a 58-19 defeat in their prior contest.
Zoey Ybarra and Paisley Hajovsky were among the main playmakers for Ganado as the former scored 11 points along with six steals and the latter scored 20 points. Ybarra is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Flatonia waltzed into their match Friday with 11 straight wins but they left with 12. They breezed by Weimar at home to the tune of 59-21. Considering Flatonia has won ten matches by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ganado's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-9. As for Flatonia, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2.
Ganado came up short against Flatonia when the teams last played back in January, falling 52-47. Can Ganado avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
