It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Tri City Prep Panthers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They welcomed the New Year with a 24-20 victory over Orme. That's two games straight that Tri City Prep has won by exactly four points.
Orme's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Maddy Kyle, who scored 14 points, and Nadya Laynor who scored 6 points along with 10 rebounds. Kyle scored a full 70% of Orme's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Lillian Welty was another key contributor, scoring 0 points along with 13 rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Tri City Prep and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Orme, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Telesis Prep the next time they take the court. Orme will head out to face Telesis Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while Tri City Prep will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
