PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central strolled past Pleasant Plains with points to spare, taking the game 45-27.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayce Privia, who scored 12 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassie Cox, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Canton beat Limestone 44-40 on Tuesday. Given Canton's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Limestone is ranked 149th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central's victory bumped their record up to 28-1. As for Canton, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season.
