For Atherton's part, Avery Gumm looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Gumm has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Charlee Heselschwerdt was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kendall Walton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
