The Lawton Wolverines''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Putnam City North 63-32. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
When it comes to explaining why Lawton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nathen (nate) Jones. Despite the final result, he rushed for 103 yards and four touchdowns.
Camarion Jones went supernova for Putnam City North, rushing for 153 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Milton Alford, who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Lawton's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Putnam City North, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Lawton will head out on the road to face off against Capitol Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Capitol Hill is on a six-game streak of home losses, Lawton a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Putnam City North will take on Deer Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Deer Creek is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
