Softball Recap: Spokane Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

While Spokane's victory against Wheaton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Owls sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Bulldogs on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Owls, who have now won three matches in a row.

Karsyn Schrock was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. Schrock was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lilly Carr, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addie Gimlim, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-4.

Spokane's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Wheaton, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-3.

Coming up, Spokane will square off against Clever at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wheaton, they will head out to take on Verona at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
