Belvidere North is 10-0 against Rockford East since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Belvidere North Blue Thunder will head out on the road to face off against the Rockford East E-Rabs at 6:30 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses for Belvidere North and six for Rockford East.
Last Saturday, Belvidere North came up short against Stillman Valley and fell 58-46. While losing is never fun, Belvidere North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 573rd, while Stillman Valley is ranked 99th).
Samantha Adams put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Schremser, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Rockford East lost to Freeport at home by a decisive 50-34 margin on Friday. Rockford East has struggled against Freeport recently, as their contest on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Belvidere North's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-13. Rockford East's record is now 2-8.
Everything came up roses for Belvidere North against Rockford East in their previous meeting back in February as the team secured a 72-11 win. With Belvidere North ahead 38-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
