Hayden Foster made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Stanton's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't). Foster was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Wyatt Price was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kole Fleming, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
Stanton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, while Yulee put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Old Plank Christian Academy. Yulee was the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Old Plank Christian Academy. With that win, the Hornets brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Jackson Jones tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brodie Nichols, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Jared Malphrus was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
The victory got Yulee back to even at 9-9. As for Stanton, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Yulee's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Stanton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. It's a different story for Yulee, though, as they've only averaged .252. Will they be able to contain Stanton's hitters?
Stanton couldn't quite get it done against Yulee when the teams last played back in May of 2023 as they fell 6-3. Will Stanton have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
