Grove City Christian is 3-0 against Columbus International since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Grove City Christian Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Columbus International Lions at 7:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Grove City Christian's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Columbus International has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
While it was all tied up 31-31 at halftime, Grove City Christian was not quite Liberty Union's equal in the second half on Monday. They received a tough blow as they fell 69-54 to the Lions.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Seth Vaughn, who scored 21 points. He hasn't dropped below 17 points for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Trenton Timlin, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Columbus International pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their rough 79-55 defeat to East might stick with them for a while.
Grove City Christian's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4. As for Columbus International, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Grove City Christian against Columbus International in their previous meeting back in January of 2020 as the team secured a 79-47 win.
