After flying high against the South Knox Spartans last Thursday, the Evansville North Huskies came back down to earth. Evansville North fell 70-61 to Daviess County on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Evansville North lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cayden Gehlhausen. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gehlhausen has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keamare Barnes, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Evansville North has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Daviess County, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
Evansville North will take on Evansville Bosse at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Evansville Bosse knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Evansville North likes a good challenge. As for Daviess County, they will head out on the road to challenge Greenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Daviess County is facing Greenwood at the right time seeing as Greenwood is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
