The Clarkston Angoras's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their tenth straight loss. They took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Miller Grove. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Clarkston of the 47-39 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Jonathan McBride and Habeeb Abdulahi certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. McBride scored 16 points, while Abdulahi dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Abdulahi pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Germayne Curry, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Clarkston's loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Miller Grove, their win ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-19.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clarkston will take on Cross Keys at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarkston is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season. As for Miller Grove, they and Westminster will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Westminster has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 204 points over their last three contests.
