Mardela and the Warriors are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 1900, but not for long. The Mardela Warriors will be playing at home against the Pocomoke Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mardela is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Mardela came up short against the Jaguars and fell 35-27.
Meanwhile, Pocomoke was beaten by the Indians 72-35 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Pocomoke can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Indians are ranked 46th).
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Donyae Washington and Se'Lah Foreman. Foreman had a great game and scored 22 points along with four steals. Meanwhile, Washington did her best for the losing side, scoring five points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Mardela has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Pocomoke, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.
Mardela was taken down by the Warriors 51-10 in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Washington, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds.
