Softball Recap: Sarasota Wins Going Away Against Auburndale

Sarasota got themselves on the board against Auburndale on Friday, but Auburndale never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 9-0 margin over the Auburndale Bloodhounds. The Sailors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by nine runs or more this season.

Gemma Mulhollen tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Sarasota got a massive performance out of Mady Pint, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Pint has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gia Depastino, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4.

Sarasota hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Sarasota's record now sits at 4-2. As for Auburndale, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coincidentally, Sarasota and Auburndale will both be playing Newsome the next time they take the field. Auburndale will head out to face Newsome at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Sarasota will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
