The Stevens Point Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the D.C. Everest Evergreens at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Stevens Point sitting on four straight victories and D.C. Everest on 16.
Stevens Point is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Merrill 28-2 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Callie Diekhus made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (two). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Abbi Grabow looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Addi Peskie was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, eight RBI, and two doubles. Those eight RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Roth, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
Stevens Point kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 26 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
D.C. Everest came out on top against Wausau East on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run second inning. The Evergreens never let the Lumberjacks get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. Considering the Evergreens have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
D.C. Everest got a big performance out of Sydney Spear, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Brooke Brown also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
D.C. Everest pushed their record up to 16-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games. As for Stevens Point, their record now sits at 16-4.
Both Stevens Point and D.C. Everest just can't seem to miss. The Panthers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like D.C. Everest struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Stevens Point might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from D.C. Everest in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
