The Carroll Tigers will be playing at home against the Victoria East Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Carroll has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They pulled ahead with a 46-45 photo finish over Miller. That's two games straight that Carroll has won by exactly a single point.
Meanwhile, Victoria East had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 54-36 win over Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, as Victoria East did.
Victoria East found their leader in underclassman Avery Valentine, who scored 21 points. Valentine hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of C'niaha Randle, who scored 10 points.
Carroll's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Victoria East, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
