The Royalton-Hartland Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Medina Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Royalton-Hartland scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Tuesday. They snuck past Albion with a 66-60 win. The victory was just what Royalton-Hartland needed coming off of a 72-42 loss in their prior match.
Royalton-Hartland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Remington Albee, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Albee has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dan Aquilina, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Medina entered their tilt with Wilson with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Medina came out on top against Wilson by a score of 63-54 on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Medina to victory, but perhaps none more so than Justin Pitts, who scored 24 points. That's the first time this season that Pitts scored 15 or more points. Preston Woodworth was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Royalton-Hartland's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-8. As for Medina, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Royalton-Hartland have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Medina struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36.1 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Royalton-Hartland skirted past Medina 63-60 when the teams last played on January 3rd. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Medina's Jerrell Nealy, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 20 rebounds.
