Redmond has gone 8-2 against Issaquah recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Redmond will be playing in front of their home fans against Issaquah at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Redmond barely beat Eastlake the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Redmond was the clear victor by a 17-5 margin over Eastlake on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won five matches in a row.
Ainsley Barcalow made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Simone Loving-Williams was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Livy Ruess, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Redmond always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .614. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .614 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Issaquah hadn't done well against Skyline recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Issaquah put the hurt on Skyline with a sharp 16-2 victory. The win was just business as usual for the Eagles, who after four games remain undefeated this season.
Shae Erickson (2027) made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Erickson (2027) was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Campbell Garvey (2027), who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Charlee Rydberg (2027) was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Redmond's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Issaquah, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
Redmond's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. Redmond has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Issaquah, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Redmond continue to outrun the ball?
Redmond might still be hurting after the 17-10 loss they got from Issaquah in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Redmond avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
