After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Cascade, Southmont was happy to have turned things around  on Friday. They put the hurt on the Greencastle Tiger Cubs with a sharp  62-42 victory. The Mounties might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by 20  points or more this season.
Southmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Avery Stadler led the charge by rushing for 300 yards and six  TDs while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Stadler also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up  a  sack, making nine total tackles (2.0 for loss),  and defending one pass. Another rusher making a difference was  Cale Chadd, who rushed for 137 yards and three  touchdowns on only 11 carries.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Southmont was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 511  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted  since  the start of last season.
 Greencastle's loss  came despite strong showings from  Cole Stephens and  Cayden Blodgett.  Stephens threw for 436 yards and four  TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, while  Blodgett picked up 360 receiving yards and three  scores. Stephens has become a key player for the Tiger Cubs: the team is 4-2 when he posts  at  least  250  passing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.
Southmont pushed their record up to 8-1 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  at home. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 39.8 points over those games. As for Greencastle, they now  have a losing record of 4-5.
