It was a good run, but the North Huron Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Deckerville 25-20. The result was an unpleasant reminder to North Huron of the 38-24 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
When it comes to explaining why North Huron lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sara Koth. Despite the final result, she scored nine points along with eight blocks and seven rebounds. Koth hasn't dropped below two blocks for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Ana Champagne, who scored a point along with eight rebounds and three steals.
North Huron's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Deckerville, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7.
North Huron didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-42 loss vs. Dryden on the 12th. Deckerville is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Peck at 5:00 p.m. on February 13th. Deckerville's defense has only allowed 29.3 points per game this season, so Peck's offense will have their work cut out for them.
