Center Place lost against the Clinton Christian Academy Patriots back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Center Place fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 42-39. Center Place has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Center Place still got an impressive performance from Rylie Kroesen, who scored 17 points along with two steals and two blocks. Caylyn Schrunk was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 14 rebounds.
Clinton Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Clara Hyke led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Hyke is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Carissa Compton, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Center Place's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Clinton Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
The two teams will face off at 4:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Clinton Christian Academy and the are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Clinton Christian Academy, they will face off against the at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Center Place focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
