The Brantley Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Kinston Bulldogs, and things went their way on Thursday too. Brantley secured a 47-41 W over Kinston.
Brantley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alex Grimes, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Grimes has scored at least 25% of Brantley's points. CoCo Stamps was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Brantley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Kinston, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brantley will challenge Luverne at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kinston won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Emmanuel Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Emmanuel Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday.
