Annawan has been on the road for five straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Annawan beat Wethersfield 55-51. The victory was just what Annawan needed coming off of a 46-24 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Knoxville by a score of 74-65. That's two games straight that Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] has won by exactly nine points.
Garrett Vincent was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Wes Sandberg was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Annawan's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge], their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-16.
Annawan took their win against Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 50-28. Will Annawan repeat their success, or does Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
