It was a proper cat-fight when Willow Canyon duked it out with Canyon View on Tuesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Jaguars. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Willow Canyon walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 26-24, 25-22.
Their offense was headlined by Jalen Wadleigh and Jackson Blair, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Ben Perkins and his 13 assists. Wadleigh was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.
Despite the defeat, Canyon View saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nikolas Cordova had 13 digs.
Willow Canyon pushed their record up to 24-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Canyon View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.
