After flying high against the Louisville Lions last Thursday, the Douglas County West Falcon came back down to earth. Douglas County West took a 43-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Douglas County West of the 39-32 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Grace Holm and Addison Strong certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Holm scored 14 points, while Strong scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Douglas County West's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Syracuse, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 10-6.
Douglas County West will face off against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Syracuse, they will be playing at home against the Chieftains at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Yutan will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
