The Randleman Tigers came tearing into Tuesday's game with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Uwharrie Charter with points to spare, taking the game 64-46. Randleman pushed the score to 55-34 by the end of the third, a deficit Uwharrie Charter cut but never quite recovered from.
Randleman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Audra Petty, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Bella Byman was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with four steals.
Despite the defeat, Uwharrie Charter saw an underclassman step up: Nevaeh Staples dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kayla Brown, who scored five points.
Even though they lost, Uwharrie Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Randleman only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Randleman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Uwharrie Charter, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8.
Randleman's road trip will continue as they head out to face Providence Grove at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Providence Grove is on a three-game streak of home wins, Randleman a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Uwharrie Charter will take on Eastern Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
