Mayflower (7-0) and Cedar Ridge (4-3) go head to head this Friday at 7:00 PM. Mayflower has been tearing up the end zone with big points in its last seven contests.
Mayflower can now show off six landslide victories after its game last week. It breezed past Harding Academy last week with a final score of 42 - 14. Junior Deon Simmons was especially active in the win, finding the end zone an impressive five times. This sound performance was nothing new for Simmons, who has been a rock for Mayflower in the past seven games.
As for Cedar Ridge, it took its game last week with a confident 63 - 34 score. Senior Daylon Gant deserves a lot of the credit as he ran for 212 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. This marked the 5th consecutive game in which Gant had 100+ rushing yards. Junior Bryce Brokaw was an active contributor as well and provided 155 receiving yards.
The last time they met, Cedar Ridge was the clear winner with a 41 - 20 finish. Mayflower couldn't get the same offensive movement going as Cedar Ridge (398 yards compared to 293 yards), so it will surely be hoping to change that this time around. Will Mayflower avenge its loss? We'll find out soon enough.
