Softball Recap: Union Gets the Win

While Union's victory against Eupora wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Union narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Eupora 5-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Yellowjackets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Alanee Wheeler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. What's more, she gave up only two walks, the fewest she's had since March 3rd.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maggie Atkinson, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Union's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Eupora, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 15-3.

Union will have a chance to go back-to-back against Eupora: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
