Central Crossing hasn't had much luck against Marysville recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Comets will face off against the Monarchs at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Central Crossing is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Upper Arlington by a score of 7-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Hayliee Roberts made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Payton King was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Kaitlyn Rizzo also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Marysville waltzed into their match on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cruisers a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Monarchs, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Sienna Hutchins was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Jaidan Hutchins was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Marysville pushed their record up to 20-6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Central Crossing, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Central Crossing might still be hurting after the 14-1 defeat they got from Marysville when the teams last played back in April of 2019. Can the Comets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
