Having struggled with four losses in a row, Aurora Central turned things around against Thornton on Thursday. They blew past Thornton 16-6. The high-scoring effort was just what Aurora Central needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Anderson Rodriguez was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off only two hits. Rodriguez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Andres Aguillera was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Victor Quijada was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.
Meanwhile, Adams City played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They walked away with an 8-3 win over Thornton. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won eight in a row.
The team relied heavily on Mauro Acosta, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Adams City: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Ramirez, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Adams City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.
Adams City now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Aurora Central, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Aurora Central has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448. However, it's not like Adams City struggles in that department as they've averaged .447. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
