On Friday, The Bountiful RedHawks got themselves on the board against the Granger Lancers, but the Granger Lancers never followed suit. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 42-0 victory over the Lancers. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Bountiful just coasted through the last quarter.
Siaki Fekitoa was a one-man wrecking crew for Bountiful as he rushed for 124 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Fekitoa was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Emerson Geilman was another key contributor, rushing for seven yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Bountiful's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Leading the way was Joshua Liljenquist and his three sacks.
Bountiful is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Granger, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.
Bountiful will head out on the road to face off against Springville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Springville comes in on six and Bountiful on three. Granger does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
