The South Allegheny Gladiators lost against the Montour Spartans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. South Allegheny took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. While losing is never fun, South Allegheny can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Spartans are ranked 16th).
Jake Wolfe was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points for Montour. Wolfe is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 21 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Platz, who scored 15 points.
South Allegheny's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Montour, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
South Allegheny will be playing at home against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Montour, they will head out on the road to face off against the Wild Cats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Allegheny has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 27.
