White Pine extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 10-7. They took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Boulder City Eagles. Even if the Bobcats couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Jacob Derbidge was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of White Pine's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-1 (and 2-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Vince Cato, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
As for Boulder City, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games.
On Boulder City's side, Tate Crine made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Crine has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Colten Lewis was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Spencer Aten was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Coming up, White Pine is taking a road trip to face off against Lincoln County at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The Lynx have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.27 runs per game on average), something the Bobcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Boulder City, they will welcome Virgin Valley at 1:00 p.m. on May 7. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
