On Tuesday, the South Fremont Cougars faced the Sugar-Salem Diggers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. South Fremont fell 48-37 to the Diggers. South Fremont just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
South Fremont's loss came despite strong showings from Brianne Bailey and Hayden Larson. Bailey scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, while Larson scored 12 points. That was a full 35.1% of South Fremont's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kenzly Neville, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
South Fremont has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season. As for Sugar-Salem, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-6.
South Fremont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sugar-Salem will head out on the road to challenge the Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Teton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 337 points over their last five games.
