Wake Forest has gone 9-1 against Heritage recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. Wake Forest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
Last Monday, Wake Forest didn't have quite enough to beat Wakefield and fell 6-5. The loss was the Cougars' first of the season.

Jil Livengood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Wake Forest saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abbey Lauer, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Heritage). Everything went their way against Knightdale on Monday as they made off with a 20-3 win. Winning may never get old, but the Huskies sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Gianna Deverna made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. Deverna was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Zoelle Davidson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, four runs, and two triples. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Sam Langdon was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI.
Heritage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .737. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.
Having lost for the first time this season, Wake Forest fell to 12-1. As for Heritage, their record now sits at 9-6.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wake Forest hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. However, it's not like Heritage struggles in that department as they've averaged .350. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wake Forest took their victory against Heritage in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
