The Montevallo Bulldogs will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Midfield Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Montevallo scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They really took it to Holt for the full four quarters, racking up a 50-13 victory at home. That looming 50-13 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Montevallo yet this season.
Meanwhile, Midfield waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They walked away with a 68-59 win over Childersburg. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Midfield found their leader in underclassman Kamiya Webb, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 19 rebounds. Webb is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmin Johnson, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and six steals.
Montevallo's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-11. As for Midfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.
Montevallo might still be hurting after the 39-14 defeat they got from Midfield in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Thankfully for Montevallo, Dominique Owens (who scored 16 points along with four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
