The Immanuel Christian Warriors are on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Trinity Christian Gryphons at 7:15 p.m. on February 6th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Immanuel Christian's game was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 66-55 win over Wakefield School.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Immanuel Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josh Choat, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Blanding, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They suffered a tough 78-55 defeat at the hands of Fredericksburg Christian. Trinity Christian has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their matchup on Monday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Immanuel Christian pushed their record up to 8-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Immanuel Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Gryphons in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 65-59 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Immanuel Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
