On Wednesday, Marian lost to Central Catholic on the road by a decisive 55-41 margin. Marian was down 51-30 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Marian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mckenzie Swanson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, and McKenley Reid who scored 13 points along with four steals. Swanson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Charlie Bingham, who scored six points along with three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Marian and nudges their season record down to 7-6. As for Central Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marian will take on Gabriel Richard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gabriel Richard will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. Central Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Start at 6:15 p.m. on January 25th. Start will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 278th, while Central Catholic is ranked 80th).
