The Woodside Wolverines''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 18-10 to Kecoughtan. Woodside lost against Kecoughtan in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 49-35 score last time.
Zephaniah Palacious threw for 37 yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Tayshawn Campbell rushed for 46 yards.
Woodside's defeat was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 4.6 points per game. As for Kecoughtan, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5.
Woodside will take on Gloucester at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Gloucester comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Kecoughtan, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Heritage is ranked 159th, while Kecoughtan is ranked 176th).
