King City is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Princeton to the tune of 62-32. The Wildkats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 30 points or more this season.

King City found their leader in sophomore Landon Carlson, who rushed for 188 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 182 yards and four touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Carlson. Ryder Sample was in the mix as well, providing King City with three scores.
King City's run defense was locked in: Princeton could only muster 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Lucas Boone for the heroic effort on defense: he. King City didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.4.
King City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Carlson and Cayden Wainscott. Carlson has been hot recently, having also posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Pattonsburg faced Albany in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Friday. The Panthers came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 64-56.
Pattonsburg's win came from a few key players King City will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Wyatt Maize, who rushed for 152 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also picked up 56 receiving yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Gage Fortner, who threw for 290 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt.
Pattonsburg's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.8 points. As for King City, their record now sits at 8-2.
The upcoming matchup will be a clash of competing strengths. King City has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 215 rushing yards a game.
