Basketball Game Preview: Memorial Red Devils vs. Jackson-Milton Bluejays

The Memorial Red Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Jackson-Milton Bluejays at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Memorial's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.

Memorial will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Lowellville, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Memorial took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 100-67 win over Lowellville. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Jared Colon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 12 for 18 from beyond the arc en route to 40 points along with eight assists and four steals. His afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josue Rodriguez, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 21 points in addition to seven assists and six boards.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Memorial was working as a unit and finished the game with 30 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, everything went Jackson-Milton's way against Chalker on Saturday as Jackson-Milton made off with a 62-36 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bluejays.

Jackson-Milton is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Memorial, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Everything came up roses for Memorial against Jackson-Milton in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured an 85-58 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Memorial since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
