Preston is 0-8 against North Marion since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Preston Knights will head out on the road to challenge the North Marion Huskies at 7:30 p.m. Preston is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Preston was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 40-39 to Robert C. Byrd. Preston has struggled against Robert C. Byrd recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Preston's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kendra Nazelrod, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five blocks, and Cameryn Sypolt who scored 14 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella White, who scored four points along with eight assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, North Marion waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They breezed by Fairmont Senior on the road to the tune of 78-40. North Marion has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.
Preston has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for North Marion, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Preston suffered a grim 73-50 defeat to North Marion in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Preston, Olivia Toland (who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and five assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
