Baseball Recap: Lawrenceburg Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lawrenceburg waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Madison Cubs. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cubs, too.

Hunter Miller tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Lawrenceburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dustin Shaw, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Another was Ryan Richard, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Lawrenceburg's record is now 12-6. As for Madison, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4.

Lawrenceburg and Madison should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Tigers (ranked 114th) will meet Rising Sun (ranked 317th) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Madison will square off against Corydon Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (45 vs. 190).
