The Madison Blue Streaks were the 77-51 winner over the Harvey Red Raiders when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Madison took a 83-76 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harvey on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (75), Madison still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Madison still got an impressive performance from JP Dragas, who scored 41 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That was a full 53.9% of Madison's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Noah Barnes was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Leading Harvey to victory were Armani Hall and Deontae Ware. Hall shot 5-for-7 from downtown and almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds, while Ware scored 27 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ware has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Goines, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Madison's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Harvey, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Madison will be playing at home against Berkshire at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Madison's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. As for Harvey, they will head out on the road to take on Kirtland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Harvey focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday.
