Softball Recap: Oakman's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

While Oakman put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for South Lamar. The Wildcats blew past the Stallions 8-0. Considering the Wildcats have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Sophie Davis made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Davis was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Melody Busby, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Lizzy Cagle, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Oakman's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-14. As for South Lamar, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Oakman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Berry on the 5th. As for South Lamar, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Lamar County on the 5th.
