The Central of Coosa County Cougars''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-39 walloping at the hands of Ranburne. Central of Coosa County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-13.
Kaide Garrett was a one-man wrecking crew for Ranburne as he threw for 152 yards and four touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 83 yards on only eight carries. Brody Morgan was another key contributor, rushing for 98 yards on only nine carries.
Central of Coosa County's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-0 Comer and 7-2 Thorsby (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 74.1% over those games). As for Ranburne, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central of Coosa County's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Autaugaville at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Autaugaville is ranked 391st, while Central of Coosa County is ranked 374th). As for Ranburne, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Randolph County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
